About Your Stay

This website has been formulated to explain how the Hospital functions and to answer some of the questions you are likely to have.

It is our aim to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. We try to ensure that you are kept well informed throughout your stay. However, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff – we are here to help you.

Boarding at Attadale Private Hospital

Many mothers are quite nervous and overwhelmed with the arrival of their new baby and they want their partner to stay with them during the first few days after delivery. A charge will apply, depending on the level of your private health cover. In case of an emergency it is imperative we are informed that your partner is staying in this hospital.

You will be provided with a “boarder” sign to hang on your door. If you are not going to be here overnight or for meals, you will need to make sure the midwives are aware and return the boarding sign.

While we welcome partners that wish to stay with new mothers and babies it is important to remember that you are boarding at the hospital to support them and it is expected that you participate in parenting activities at all times of the day and night. Staff will be required to enter the room at times whilst providing care for new mothers and babies and it is likely that sleep will be disturbed several times in the night. For this reason we would also like to remind parents that while we want you to feel comfortable and in a “home-like” environment, we request that appropriate clothing or sleep attire be worn at all times.

The hospital has set meal times. While we understand that some boarders are required to continue life outside, while their partners are in hospital with new baby, you need to be aware that meal times are set by the main kitchen and are unable to be changed. In the interest of your health and safety, and to comply with food handling safety regulations the hospital has set meal times. Meals cannot be kept or stored for later in the day and meals cannot be specially ordered.
